Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has issued notification Advt. No. 460/202627 for direct recruitment to 16 positions of Operation Theatre Assistant (Class-3) under the Health and Family Welfare Department. Online applications can be submitted through OJAS portal from October 15 to October 29, 2026.
About This Recruitment
The recruitment is for Operation Theatre Assistant Class-3 posts under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Health and Family Welfare Department, Gujarat. Selected candidates will be appointed on a fixed monthly remuneration for the first five years before regular placement.

Salary & Benefits
Fixed salary of Rs. 26,000/- per month for the initial 5 years. Upon successful completion of 5 years, regular appointment will be made in Level-2 pay scale (Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200/-) as per 7th Pay Commission.
Eligibility Details
Candidates must hold a Diploma in Operation Theatre Techniques/Technician, or a 1-year Certificate Course in OT Technology/Technician, or B.Sc. Medical Technology in Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology. Basic computer knowledge and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi is required.

Selection Process / Exam Pattern
The selection test will be a CBRT/OMR exam consisting of Part-A (90 marks, 90 questions) and Part-B (120 marks, 120 questions), total 210 questions for 3 hours duration with 1/4 negative marking. Qualifying standard is minimum 40% for each part.
Syllabus
Part-A includes Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30m), Quantitative Aptitude (30m), Constitution of India (10m), Current Affairs (10m), and Gujarati & English Comprehension (10m). Part-B covers technical subjects: Anatomy, Physiology, Applied Microbiology, Pharmacology, Anaesthesia Technology, Healthcare & Diseases, Instruments & Physics, and Communication/Computer Applications.
Documents Required
Educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), non-creamy layer certificate for SEBC, disability certificate (if applicable), discharge book for Ex-Servicemen, passport-size photo with white background, and signature.
