Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has issued a recruitment advertisement (Advt. No. 466/202627) for 6 vacancies of Food Safety Officer, Class-3 under a Special Recruitment Drive for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD). Eligible candidates with relevant Bachelor's or Master's degrees can apply online via the OJAS portal between 27th October 2026 and 10th November 2026.

Applications are invited from eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) candidates for direct recruitment to the post of Food Safety Officer, Class-3 under the Food and Drugs Control Administration, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat.

Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a fixed remuneration of Rs. 40,800/- per month for the first 5 years. Upon satisfactory completion of 5 years, candidates will be appointed on a regular basis under Pay Level-5 (Rs. 29,200 - 92,300).
Eligibility Details
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Chemistry, or a Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate Degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Science, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, or Medicine from a recognized University. Candidates should also have basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Gujarati or Hindi.

Selection Process / Exam Pattern
Selection will be based on a competitive examination (CBRT/OMR mode) worth 210 marks with a duration of 3 hours (180 minutes). Part-A (90 marks) covers Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks), Mathematical Reasoning (30 marks), and Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension (30 marks). Part-B (120 marks) covers Subject Related Questions. Negative marking of 1/4th (0.25) mark applies for wrong answers. The minimum qualifying standard is 40% in each part.
Syllabus
The exam syllabus covers Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Mathematics, Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Language Comprehension (Gujarati & English), and domain-specific topics related to Food Safety, Chemistry, Food Technology, Agriculture, and relevant disciplines.

Candidates must possess original documents including Educational Qualification Certificates, Age Proof/School Leaving Certificate, Caste Certificate (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, Disability Certificate (Form V, VI, or VII), Passport-size White Background Photo, and Signature.
