Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has published an official notification for the recruitment of 84 Food Safety Officer, Class-3 vacancies under the Health and Family Welfare Department. About This Recruitment
GSSSB is inviting applications for the position of Food Safety Officer, Class-3 under the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat. Selected candidates will be appointed on a fixed monthly pay of Rs. 40,800 for the first five years, following which they are eligible for regular pay scale under Level-5 (Rs. 29,200 - 92,300). Selection will be conducted based on a direct competitive examination (CBRT/OMR mode).

Salary & Benefits
Fixed pay of Rs. 40,800 per month for the initial 5-year probation period. Upon satisfactory completion, candidates will be regularized into Pay Matrix Level-5 (Rs. 29,200 - 92,300).
Eligibility Details
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Chemistry, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, or Medicine from a recognized University/Institution. Candidates must also possess basic computer knowledge and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi language.

Selection Process / Exam Pattern
The recruitment examination consists of a single paper divided into two parts: Part-A (90 Marks) covering Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension (30) with 3 hours combined duration; Part-B (120 Marks) on domain-specific subject questions. Negative marking of 1/4th mark applies for incorrect answers.
Syllabus
Part-A includes Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, and Language Comprehension (Gujarati & English). Part-B covers technical and subject-specific topics relevant to Food Technology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and related disciplines.
