Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has published a recruitment notification (Advt No. 463/202627) for 06 vacancies of Additional Assistant Engineer (Mechanical), Class-3 under the Ports and Transport Department. Candidates with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering can apply online through the OJAS website from 26th October 2026 to 9th November 2026. Selection will be based on a Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) exam.

Salary & Benefits
Appointed candidates will receive a fixed remuneration of Rs. 49,600/- per month for the first five years. Upon satisfactory completion of five years, candidates will be placed in regular pay scale Level-7 (Rs. 39,900 to Rs. 1,16,600/-) under the 7th Pay Commission.
Eligibility Details
Candidates must possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized board/university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government, such as a Diploma in Automobile Engineering. Candidates must also have basic computer application knowledge and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi language. Age limit is 18 to 33 years as on 09-11-2026, with relaxation applicable for reserved categories.

Selection Process / Exam Pattern
The exam will be a single CBRT/OMR test comprising two parts: Part-A (90 Marks/Questions) covering Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension (30); and Part-B (120 Marks/Questions) covering Technical Subject & relevant application. Total time duration is 3 hours (180 minutes). Negative marking of 1/4 (0.25) mark applies for wrong answers. Minimum qualifying standard is 40% in each part.

Educational certificates, Diploma marksheets/degree, School Leaving Certificate, Caste Certificate (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS), Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (if applicable), Photo ID proof, and Passport-size recent photo with white background and printed date of photo.
