Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced a recruitment notification for the posts of Senior Scientific Officer in Toxicology, Physics, and Ballistics Divisions. Eligible candidates with relevant Post Graduate degrees or Engineering qualifications along with required experience can apply online from June 11, 2026, to July 10, 2026.
About This Recruitment
Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) invites online applications for the recruitment of Senior Scientific Officer (Group-I) in the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Rajasthan. The vacancies are distributed across three divisions: Toxicology, Physics, and Ballistics, with one post in each division. Selection will be based on a written examination followed by an evaluation process.

Eligibility Details
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria: 1. Educational Qualifications: - Toxicology Division: M.Sc. (at least II Division) in Chemistry/Forensic Science (with specialization in Forensic Chemistry/Toxicology/Narcotics) OR M.Tech/M.E. (at least II Division) in Chemical Engineering. Candidates must also possess a Certificate/Diploma in Computer Science/Applications or an 'O' level certificate, and have 2 years of experience in a State or Central Government Forensic Science Laboratory. - Physics Division: M.Sc. (at least II Division) in Physics/Forensic Science (with specialization in Forensic Physics/Physical Science) OR M.Tech/M.E. (at least II Division) in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Candidates must also possess a Computer certificate/diploma and 2 years of experience in a Forensic Science Laboratory. - Ballistics Division: M.Sc. (at least II Division) in Physics/Mathematics/Forensic Science (with specialization in Forensic Ballistics). Candidates must also possess a Computer certificate/diploma and 2 years of experience in a Forensic Science Laboratory. - All candidates must have working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagari script and knowledge of Rajasthan culture. 2. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027): - Minimum Age: 21 Years - Maximum Age: 40 Years - Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Rajasthan state government rules.

Selection Process / Exam Pattern
The selection process includes a written examination with the following pattern: - Subject: Concerned Subject (as prescribed in the qualifications) - Number of Questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) - Total Marks: 150 - Duration: 2 Hours and 30 Minutes - Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. There will be 5 options for each question, and marking the 5th option is mandatory if the question is left unattempted.
